摘要

During the last ten years several numerical compartment fire and smoke spread models have been developed. These models have mainly been used within the research establishments where they were developed. In the last five years some models, mostly two zone models, have been entering the commercial market. This is due to the development of userfriendly computer programs and also because of more powerful computers. Today a numerical compartment fire model can be run with a graphical user-interface on an ordinary personal computer. The computing times for a simulation are down to practical commercial use. In the project the main goal was to perform large scale smoke spread experiments under realistic conditions to provide data for evaluation of numerical smoke spread models. The measurements will be available as data for evaluation of room fire models.
