Practical Procedure for Determining the Contractor's Home-Office Overhead

This report presents the activities and the outcome of a study dealing with thedevelopment of a practical procedure for use by the California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) to determine the contractor's home-office overhead. The main aim of this project is to develop and validate a procedure for determining the amount of compensation for home-office overhead paid to contractors due to owner-caused delays. The report discusses the background of the home-office overhead issue and the relevant literature dealing with delay claim's estimation practices.
