Stratigraphic Correlations between the Eagle Valley Evaporite and MinturnFormation, Eagle Basin, Northwest Colorado

Comparisons of lithologic units between measured sections in the Eagle basin ofnorthwest Colorado described in the study permit correlations between the Eagle Valley Evaporite on the east and west sides of the Wolcott syncline. These correlations are a first step in determining how the basin-center evaporites relate stratigraphically to basin-margin carbonate and clastic rocks of the Minturn Formation.
