Spectral Radiative Heat Transfer in Gas-Fired Furnaces

The thesis describes a study of radiative heat transfer in natural gas-firedglass furnaces that fits into the aim of glass producers to improve furnace efficiency. The results of the study are more generally applicable than only to glass furnaces. Yet, since a glass furnace is the basic configuration studied, the glass melting process will be discussed below.
