摘要

Between July 20-24, 1992, Statistical Research, Inc. (SRI) conducted a Class IIIarchaeological survey of 1000 acres in the Mittry Lake area near Yuma, Arizona. The survey was performed under contract to the Bureau of Reclamation, Lower Colorado Region (Contract No. 0-CS-30-06140, Task Order 13). The goal of the survey was to inventory the project area for cultural resources and provide a preliminary assessment of the eligibility for inclusion in the National Register of Historic Places. Eleven sites and three isolated finds were recorded during the survey. Two sites, AZ X:3:59 (ASM) and AZ X:3:147 (BLM), were prehistoric in origin. Both of these sites had been previously recorded. During the survey only AZ X:3:59 (ASM) could be relocated; AZ X:3:147 (BLM) being currently under Mittry Lake. The remaining sites were historic in nature, consisting of five historic mines or mining, two historic camps, one historic settlement, and one structure, Laguna Dam. Of the 11 sites, four were considered eligible for inclusion in the National Register of Historic laces, six were deemed ineligible, and one could not be assessed.
