Public Health Assessment for Metal Working Shop, Lake Ann, Benzie County, Michigan, Region 5. CERCLIS No. MID980992952

The Metal Working Shop site was placed on the United States Environmental Protection Agency (U.S. EPA) National Priorities List (NPL) on February 21, 1990. The site, covering 3 acres in rural Benzie County, Michigan, has been occupied by a series of metal working and finishing operations. One such operation formerly disposed of waste rinse water from an iron phosphate finishing process onto the ground behind the facility. The rinse water contained dissolved phosphate, molybdenum, manganese, and chromium. Further investigation has found no significant environmental impact from site activities. ATSDR has concluded that the site poses no apparent public health hazard.
