Issues in Alzheimer's Disease: Forging Successful Linkages

Topics for this series are selected, based on expressions of need both by theaging network and by family caregivers of Alzheimer's patients. The series of publications seeks to be responsive to 'What is not yet perfect' or 'What doesn't work'. Subsequent issues in the series may also be responsive to entirely new developments in the field of Alzheimer's Disease and long term care. The issue was developed in response to the observation of Alzheimer's caregivers that when referrals were made to benefit Alzheimer's patients or caregivers, these referrals sometimes failed to work, or to 'take', so to speak. Accordingly, the authors undertook to address these issues, in order to improve the capacity of the aging network to forge successful linkages, and thereby, make available services more accessible to family caregivers.
