Blood Lead Screening Project, Coffeyville, Kansas. Final Report

Agency for Toxic Substances and Disease Registry (ATSDR) conducted a blood leadscreening project in Coffeyville, Kansas. The goal was to determine if children from 6 through 71 months of age and pregnant women living in the vicinity of the Sherwin-Williams Co. site had elevated blood lead levels. Of the 51 eligible children tested, 4 had blood lead levels > or = 10 micrograms per deciliter. The geometric mean and median blood levels for all resident children were 3.1 and 2.9 micrograms per deciliter respectively. None of the pregnant women had elevated blood lead levels.
