New Venture Evaluation and Selection

The main emphasis in the report is on the development of a framework for newventure evaluation and selection for new business incubators. The purpose of the report is to construct an evaluation and selection system for improving the performance of Spinno, the new business incubator program of Otaniemi Science Park. A general model for developing an evaluation and selection system for new business incubators is outlined. The six main dimensions that should be taken into account in developing an evaluation and selection system are: the methods used for new venture flow generation, the screening criteria, the evaluation and selection criteria, the decision making methods, the organization of the evaluation and selection process, and the involvement in the new ventures after the selection.
