Review of Education in Measurement Technology and Metrology

摘要

An investigation of training and education in measurement science and technologyhas been performed in a rapid international review. By way of introduction, a summary of the debate on whether metrology and measurement technology can be regarded as academic subjects in their own right or whether they belong with the classical subjects such as physics, electrotechnology, etc. Different ways of presenting the measurement process are then described, including the various steps in the chain of measurement, from the measurand; through its interaction with the measuring instrument; to finally the treatment and analysis of the measurement data.
