摘要

Several solid and liquid desiccants were studied to determine their ability forremoving pollutants from indoor air in the presence of water vapor. This volume discusses removal capabilities of solid and liquid desiccants for microorganisms and particulates. The removal of airborne particles was studied by using Environmental Tobacco Smoke (ETS), which is a dynamic aerosol exhibiting both spatial and temporal variations, losing volatile components for its particles, and changing in particle size over time. The removal of microorganisms was studied focusing on the effects of exposure time and the concentration of liquid desiccant solutions, both in vitro and in a packed absorber.
