摘要

The 1991 Longitudinal Followup (LF) to the 1988 National Maternal and InfantHealth Survey (NMIHS) provides population-based data on child health, pediatric care, and fertility. The sample for the NMIHS was drawn from vital records. 9,953 women who had a 1988 live birth, 3,309 women who had a 1988 fetal loss, and 5,332 women who had a 1988 infant death were interviewed. The LF has three components. For the first component (the live birth survey), the respondents from the 1988 live birth cohort were recontacted when the children were about three years old. The component provides nationally-representative data in areas such as child health and development, child injuries, child care, and health insurance.
