In Part Six of Volume III the authors examine phytophageous sawflies andhorntails (Symphyta), small superfamilies of parasitic Apocrita (Trigonaloidea, Stephanoidea, Evanioidea) and family Paxylommatidae of the superfamily Ichneumonoidea. Keys to 18 families, 123 genera and more than 900 species, which include a large number of economically important agricultural and forest pests as well as entomophagous insects, have been prepared. Also given are brief descriptions of morphological and biological characteristics of the families and genera along with information on the synonymy, geographic distribution and known host plants of each species. Three new species have been described and 12 new subgenera established.
