Increased production from all sectors of the poultry industry is expected in1994. These increases are expected to weaken prices slightly from last year. Returns also will be below 1993 due mainly to higher feed costs. Broilers and eggs are expected to remain profitable, while turkeys probably will show a small loss for the year. Overall poultry demand remains strong from a moderately growing economy despite large competing meat supplies.
