Procurement, Contracting and Competition in Building Construction

The report contains a general description of the contracting practices in certainE.U. countries and in the Nordic countries as well as the future trends in building construction in the western industrialized countries and the competition environment in Europe. It introduces a design-and-construct-contracting with a performance specification and implementing module procurement system. The advantage of the new method is that the competition is focused both on the characteristics of the product and on the economy of the production. The method is useful for procuring parts of the building (modules), too.
