摘要

The present paper describes the finite-element modeling of static and stationary electric and magnetic fields directly in terms of the electric and the magnetic field strength. In case of static fields the domain of computation is free of any electric currents, whereas in case of stationary fields constant electric currents may be present. In our method the static and stationary curl equations are supplemented with all relevant electromagnetic compatibility relations. In this way a problem with a unique solution is defined and spurious solutions are avoided. The method has the advantage over methods that use (vector) potentials that it is more accurate for the same mesh and the same degree of approximation.
