The report presents an economic evaluation of the biological treatment ofcontaminated soils found at manufactured gas plant (MGP) sites in a liquids/solids slurry (bioslurry) reactor. The methodology includes the development of a model MGP site which is representative based on current knowledge of MGP site characteristics. Information on site characteristics and bioslurry treatment performance was obtained from surveys of exiting MGP sites and from results of bioslurry treatability studies performed on several MGP site soils. The process treatment sequence is based on particle size characteristics and the interaction of the soil with the contaminants of concern.
