Methodology for Estimating Impact of Transportation Infrastructure on BusinessLocation in Rural Northwest Communities: A Case Study of the Pullman Transit System

The mobility needs of rural residents have come to the forefront of publicattention. Smaller cities have special needs and problems in improving rural transportation. This study evaluates, using a case study of the bus/demand responsive system of Pullman, Washington, various performance measures of such systems. Operational efficiencies and effectiveness are examined and the total system design is analyzed. Suggestions for implementing optimum transit systems in other rural areas are offered. This final report is essentially a manual for other communities to use in implementing their systems.
