The objective of this study was to demonstrate the feasibility of using acatalytic combustor on a gas-turbine generator set for HEV applications. When successfully developed, the catalytic combustor would be used on a 24 kW gas-turbine generator set being developed by the contractor, NoMac Energy Systems, Inc., to be used as an auxilliary power unit for a HEV under development at Ford Motor Company. The contractor successfully designed, developed, and tested two combustors on gaseous fuels.
