Cryogenic Properties of Inorganic Insulation Materials for ITER Magnets: A Review

摘要

Results of a literature search are reported on the cryogenic properties ofcandidate inorganic insulators for the toroidal field magnets of the International Thermonuclear Experimental Reactor. The materials investigated include: Al2O3, AlN, MgO, porcelain, SiO2, MgAl2O4, ZrO2, and mica. A graphical presentation is given of mechanical, elastic, electrical, and thermal properties between 4 and 300 K. A companion report reviewed the low temperature irradiation resistance of these materials.
