This report updates Implementing the World Bank's Strategy to Reduce Poverty:Progress and Challenges (World Bank 1993a). It assesses the Bank's progress in supporting poverty reduction during fiscal 1993, reflects on the lessons learned, lays out the continuing challenges, and indicates the steps taken by the Bank to improve the way it addresses poverty issues. To evaluate progress during the past fiscal year, this report examines the extent to which the Bank is implementing the poverty reduction strategy articulated in the above-mentioned documents.
