摘要

This report describes the ozone lidar experiments conducted by NOAA'sEnvironmental Technology Laboratory (ETL) in California in 1993. The main objectives of the experiments were: (1) to verify the capability of the ETL ozone lidar for remotely sensing ozone and aerosol profiles in the lower troposphere, (2) to test the integrity of the lidar system and the mobile laboratory for further system improvements, (3) to improve the data retrieval algorithm and processing techniques for better accuracy of ozone observations, and (4) to test the performance of this lidar in a very polluted environment like the Los Angeles air basin, and obtain first-hand information about ozone and aerosol vertical distribution in this region.
