The objective of the grant was to increase the number of trained volunteers whoprovide services to older Marylanders at risk of losing their independence. The State Plan on Eldercare Volunteerism was the major project of the grant. Designed to provide guidance and instruction for enhancing the recruitment and placement of Eldercare volunteers, the State Plan was distributed to 19 local Area Agencies on Aging, the Advisory Committee, key members of the aging network, Maryland Office on Aging Corporate Eldercare partners, and the statewide Project CARE coalitions.
