Influence of Refining Processes and Crude Oil Sources Used in Colorado on Resultsfrom the Hamburg Wheel-Tracking Device

摘要

The purpose of the report is to identify the influence of the asphalt-aggregateinteraction by using results from the Hamburg wheel-tracking device. Ten grading AC-10 asphalt cements were used from four refineries who supply asphalt in Colorado that used various refining processes and crude oil sources. The refining process and crude oil sources do influence the test results from the Hamburg wheel-tracking device. Each refinery was able to produce an asphalt cement that passed in the Hamburg wheel-tracking device with the better aggregates.
