In EN 789 test methods for determining some mechanical properties of wood-basedpanels are specified. The standard is primarily intended for products for use in load-bearing timber structures. A method for the panel shear properties is included in the standard, but due to limited experience, this method has been placed in an annex. The purpose of the present project was to study the panel shear test method in EN 789 for materials other than plywood, wafer board and OSB and, if necessary, to suggest modifications to the method.
