Quality Education: School Reform for the New American Economy. Executive Summary

The reform of the American education system has focused a great deal of attentionon the relationship among employers, educators and education unions. They face similar challenges from the emerging economic reality, requiring similar types of responses. Most important, the successful reform of each depends on the successful reform of the others. The report attempts to reconcile divergent views in the interest of finding common ground from which a balanced agenda for the simultaneous modernization of the workforce and the reform of schooling can proceed.
