The pamphlet explores the issue from the perspective of Maine's local planning boards. It introduces the reader to concepts of cumulative impact assessment (CIA), identifies major issues raised by CIA, examines how Maine law allows for consideration of cumulative impacts, and highlights some local examples of successful integration of considerations of cumulative impacts into decision-making.
