Cell Loss Analysis of Two-Class Priority Generalized Knockout Switch

Since services require different quality of service, an asynchronous transfermode (ATM) switch must be capable of handling the requirements of different services. In this letter, we introduce a two-class priority scheme to Knockout Switch (KS) and Generalized Knockout Switch (GKS). The priority switches achieve much lower loss rate of high-priority cells than no-priority switches. Using the priority scheme in the GKS is more efficient than in the KS to reduce the interconnect complexity of switch.
