Cadmium and Inorganic Cadmium Compounds. Health Based Recommended OccupationalExposure Limit

Upon request of the Minister of Social Affairs Employment the Health Council ofthe Netherlands recommends health based occupational exposure limits for the concentration of toxic substances in the air of the workplace. These recommendations are made by the Council's Dutch Expert Committee on Occupational Standards (DECOS). The process of setting Health Based Recommended Occupational Exposure Limits constitutes the first step in a three-stage procedure that leads to legally binding limit values. In the present report the committee discusses the consequences of occupational exposure to cadmium and its inorganic compounds. This assessment is an update of the criteria document on cadmium published by the Dutch Expert Committee on Occupational Standards (RA 5/1980).
