Development of Planar Geometry Solid Oxide Fuel Cell Technology. Phase 3. FinalReport, May 1992-April 1994

This report documents the advances made in the Ceramatec planar solid oxide fuelcell (SOFC) technology in third phase of the development. The accomplishments of the development effort were highlighted by the test of the first 1.4 kW planar SOFC system amongst the U.S. developers and also represented the largest such demonstration in the world in December '94. The principal objectives of the present phase were to scale up stack size to 4 inch x 4 inch cells, establishing cell endurance and a high efficiency integrated multi stack module design and develop and demonstrate cell, stack and module performance on natural gas.
