West Virginia Electricity: An Assessment of Constraints and Demands

摘要

The purpose of this study is to investigate three important aspects ofelectricity market. This first is to determine constraints and bottlenecks encountered in transmitting electricity generated from West Virginia power plants to out-of-state areas such as New Jersey, Maryland and Northern Virginia. The second is to assess the anticipated power demand growth in these areas. The third is to assess the potential for additional electricity exports from West Virginia by using a hypothetical new plant in Nicholas County as an example.
