Selective Visualization in Curvilinear Grids (Selectieve Visualisatie opKromlijnige Roosters)

摘要

The authors will first give an overview of visualization techniques for 3D scalarand vector datasets. The overview is followed by a discussion of current problems in visualization, on which the definition of the objectives is based. They continue with a chapter on visualization techniques for curvilinear grids. Two closely related operations, point location and interpolation, are discussed in this chapter. They describe and compare techniques that can be used in 3D curvilinear grids. Chapter 4, on selective visualization, describes a technique to select parts of a dataset, and the use of these selected data in the visualization mapping. Chapter 5, on iconic visualization, describes an extra step that can be added to selective visualization in order to visualize selected data with iconic objects. In Chapter 6, the authors apply these techniques described in four cases. Finally, Chapter 7 contains the conclusions of the work presented in this thesis, and directions for future research.
