Durability of Polyethylene-Based Geomembranes in Agressive Liquid Media

摘要

Durability of a polyethylene based geomembrane was investigated in threecarefully selected liquids which simulated common chemicals in transportation and waste deposit environments. The degradation processes were accelerated by a moderate increase in temperature. The effect of the chemicals and studied using tensile test, infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), induction temperature measurements, and determination of dimensional and weight changes.
