Phase 3 Mitigative Excavations at the Baker Creek Site (8H15446) Located in theFlorida Gas Transmission Line Corridor, Hillsborough County, Florida

The objective of the Phase III excavations was to mitigate the adverse effects ofthe proposed pipeline installation to the archaeological resource through sufficient data recovery. This would be accomplished through (1) the recovery of a representative sample of the site's artifact assemblage; (2) the analysis of the lithic assemblage in terms of morphological characteristics and functions; (3) the definition and description of specific activity areas within the site; and (4) the determination of what activities were occurring at the site during its occupation.
