Accurate Discretization of Turbulence Transport Equations in General Coordinates

In this paper some discretization issues that arise in finite volume computationsof turbulent flows in arbitrarily shaped domains are presented. Staggered grids are employed. Turbulence is modeled by the standard kappa-xi model. Discretizations are discussed of a general transport equation which are exact for uniform and linear flow fields on irregular grids. A new higher-order monotone upwind scheme for the approximation of turbulence convection is formulated. A number of test problems show the utility of the present numerical method.
