High Altitude Installation of Natural Gas-Fired Appliances with Fan-AssistedCombustion Systems. Topical Report, April 1993-March 1994

The study forms the basis for needed changes in both the ANSI gas appliancestandards and the national Fuel Gas Code to appropriately address the proper installation of new technology as natural gas-fired appliances at high altitudes. Lack of appropriate guidelines or criteria has been a major barrier to consumers receiving the benefit of new technology equipment in the estimated 10 percent of the population that resides above 2000 feet elevation.
