Developmental Computer-Based Version of ASCE 7-95 Standard Provisions for Wind Loads

This report includes a brief introduction to and description of the wind loading provisions of the ASCE (American Society of Civil Engineers) Standard 7-95. An interactive computer program representing those provisions was developed and tested by the authors and NIST staff. The resulting software is included ina diskette presented in this report. Instructions for the user of the program are also included. An appendix contains excerpts from a large numbe of calculations aimed at verifying the performance of the interactive program. following its completion, the program was submitted ofr beta-testing by and ASCE-assembled team. The program presented in this report does not relect the results of that testing,a and is not official version othe ASCE 7-95 Standard. A main purpose of this report is to serve the need of professionals interested in the application of knowledge systems to the development of computer-based models of standards.
