Wholesale broiler prices averaged 2-4 cents per pound lower in January-Februarycompared to a year earlier, and are expected to fall 3-4 cents for all of 1995. Sharply higher export sales in 1994 absorbed more than half of last year's production increase. Industry profitability is holding near last year's levels due to lower feed costs. Continued profitability is expended to support larger broiler production. Production increases of 6-7 percent are expected for 1995 because of stronger placements and a hatchery supply flock for broiler-type eggs that stays well above 1994.
