Area Agencies on Aging and the Implementation of the National Affordable HousingAct: Results of a National Survey

The report is based on a follow-up survey of Area Agencies on Aging (AAAs)conducted in late 1992 by the National Eldercare Institute on Housing and Supportive Services (NEIHSS). One purpose was to explore in some depth the actions and activities of those AAAs that had reported participating in this planning process. Another purpose was to examine the nature of these early Comprehensive Housing Affordability Strategy (CHASes) and to establish baseline information for comparing the experiences of this first group of AAAs with others that may follow. A final purpose was to examine the similarities and differences between State Units on Aging (SUAs) and AAAs in the CHAS process, both nationwide and within particular states.
