National Household Education Survey 1991 (NHES:91) Questionnaires: Screener, Early Childhood Education, and Adult Education. Working Paper Series

The NHES:91 is designed to cover two topical components: Early Childhood Education (ECE) and Adult Education (AE). Each of these components is related to one of the Presidents and Governors National Education Goals. The ECE component addresses issues of importance to Goal 1, By the year 2000, all children in America will start school ready to learn. Issues related to Goal 5, By the year 2000, every adult American will be literate and will possess the knowledge and skills necessary to compete in a global economy and exercise the rights and responsibilities of citizenship, are addressed in the AE component. The NHES:91 is a cross-sectional telephone survey of households with data collection that began in January and ended in May of 1991. Households were sampled using random digit dialing methods. Approximately 60,000 households were screened to identify eligible respondents.
