This symposium brought together experts to describe child prostitution as it211u001eoccurs worldwide and to discuss various responses to the problem. The speakers 211u001eshared their expertise on the prostitution of children, children's rights, and 211u001ethe roles, responsibilities and responses of governments, intergovernmental 211u001eorganizations, law enforcement, the media, and non-governmental organizations. 211u001eThe volume is then divided into two parts containing the proceedings of two panel 211u001esessions. Part I describes the situation of forced child prostitution 211u001einternationally, with specific examples from Asia, Africa, Latin America, and the 211u001eUnited States. Part II looks at different types of programs and strategies for 211u001ecombatting child prostitution.
