摘要

Seismic design of reinforced concrete structures is a matter of great concern. Inthe case of nuclear installations, understanding and prediction of the dynamic behavior of structures and of the equipment and piping within these, are important factors. Since 1986, the Nuclear Power Engineering Corporation (NUPEC) in Japan has conducted large tests in order to improve and develop seismic analysis codes and to enhance reliability of seismic safety evaluation methods. As part of these projects tests were performed in 1991 with the purpose of studying the dynamic response characteristics of reinforced concrete shear walls as major earthquake resisting elements of a reactor building. One of primary goals was to obtain experimental data to verify seismic response analysis methods.
