摘要

This study is part of the research project 'High oil injection rates in a blastfurnace' which is part of the National Energy Research Program Sula 2 in Finland. The injection of heavy fuel oil into the blast furnace was studied using a small scale model of the blowpipe-tuyere-raceway assembly of a blast furnace. Mixtures of water, glycerol and ethanol were used to simulate heavy fuel oil. Air at atmospheric pressure and temperature was used to simulate the hot blast. Dimensional analysis was used in the design of the testing rig and in the interpretation of the results.
