Oklahoma Long-Term Care Project: Emphasizing Capacity Building in AAAs. ServiceCapacity Building in a AAA Blueprint

The project had three (3) goals: (1) To complete a useable plan and how-to-guidesfor developing a long term care public trust authority; incorporating an area agency on aging within the administrative purview of a long term care authority and developing system entry, case management and resource development capacity within an AAA; (2) The project's key cooperating organizations, conjointly with the existing aging advocacy network, will identify the AAA planning and service area to implement the pilot demonstration; (3) to implement the long term care service delivery pilot demonstration. Oklahoma's original authority, located in Tulsa, established the long term care infrastructure necessary to delivery services in an urban area. This left a long term care authority untested in rural health care. Implementing that rural long term care authority became an activity of the AoA grant.
