Novel Electromagnetic Method for the In-Line Inspection of Gas Pipelines: Proof-of-Concept Experiments. Final Report, December 1994-December 1995

The investigation described in this report demonstrated feasibility of anondestructive electromagnetic in-line inspection technique that is suitable for the detection and evaluation of stress-corrosion cracks in gas transmission pipelines. Proof-of-concept experiments show that the proposed method can detect narrow axial slits through the pipe wall on the outside of gas pipes.
