This document reports on the third annual Symposium on African-American MobilityIssues held in Tampa, Florida, April 5 through 7, 1995. The symposium topics had broad appeal and generated information particularly valuable to transit operators, engineers, planners, equal opportunity specialists, governmental officials, economists, and transportation policymakers. Topics that addressed in the sessions included: Equal access and mobility: the counting evolution of policies related to highway and transit funding; Emerging technologies and the implications of their impact on the African-American community; Entrepreneurs and contracting opportunities within the transportation industry; Applied research findings as related African-American travel behavior. The symposium agenda, selected presentations, and symposium evaluation are contained in this report.
