The Federal Mine Safety and Health Act of 1977 requires that the averageconcentration of respirable coal mine dust be measured with a device approved by the Secretary of Labor and the Secretary of Health and Human Services. The information report describes the standard procedures used by the Mine Safety and Health Administration (MSHA) for calibration of current approved personal samplers and associated equipment and for maintenance of this equipment.
