This working report presents an analysis of the economic situation in Norwegian tourism industry enterprises. The study is based on a sample of 6000 businesses in operation between 1990 and 1995, and focuses on profitability, value-added and capability of survival. The tourism industry is compared to other industries and analyses are furthermore made separately for six regions in Norway, for four particular areas and for the various tourism industry branches.
