摘要

The objectives of this research were to: Assess the long-term outcomes of primarycare back pain and headache patients; Conduct an exploratory audiotape study of primary care pain visits to identify how behavioral approaches to pain management might be integrated into care. Important results of the long-term follow-up study included: New methods of assessing chronic pain status in primary care were developed; Primary care back pain and headache patients were found to have less favorable long-term outcomes than previously believed.
