Record prices for milk and cheese will bring recovery in milk production andslowing in commercial use. However, the basic forces responsible for these prices--brisk demand, poor forage, and high concentrate prices--are expected to remain important through at least mid-1997. These factors will limit the size of price drops and make their timing highly uncertain.
